Meet Terry Joslin
Motorcycle Photographer
Motorcycles have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up around racing bikes gave me an early understanding of the engineering, character and craftsmanship that make these machines special.
When I later took up photography, the focus was always the motorcycle itself. My background working with metal, combined with formal photography training, shaped the way I see a machine — the lines, the surfaces and the small details that reveal its history.
That combination has led to work at race meetings across the UK and with leading classic motorcycle magazines, always with the same aim: to photograph these machines with accuracy, respect and an understanding of what makes them significant.
Client Reviews
Terry Joslin has become a reliable working colleague and excellent professional photographer over the last few years.
He has taken pictures of a number of my motorcycles, road and racing machines, that are a part of my collection.
Many of them have been interesting enough to have appeared in magazines, newspaper articles and been featured as “centrefolds” in Classic Racer.
Terry has also proved that he can keep information to himself, as many of the machines he photographs are valuable and owners value their privacy.
I have been aware of Terry and his motorcycle photography for a great number of years as a friend and have admired his work. However, for the past four years, I have worked directly with him on motorcycle features and found he is something of a perfectionist, always looking to produce the best shots, either static or moving, and he continually works hard to capture the essence of the bike in the most appropriate settings as far as possible, scoping out potential venues prior to the shoot.
The fact that he is a committed motorcycle rider and enthusiast really helps him understand the subject, allowing him to use the most appropriate lens, lighting and angles to produce everything from a cover shot, or centre page spread, making him one of the best motorcycle photographers currently working.
